NOW IS THE TIME: HOW MANY NEED TO DIE BEFORE WE Say “ENOUGH?”

This tragedy must not be swept under the rug. It is imperative that we, as a society, address this issue with the seriousness it demands. Accountability for those in positions of authority is crucial, and now is the time for a united response. An alliance within Black communities across America is essential for tackling these systemic issues and preventing further tragedies.

For too long, Black Americans have faced relentless suffering, often being relegated to the shadows while our pain and struggles go unheard. It is time for us to rise from this darkness and forge an alliance that can address both internal and external challenges. Our endurance has reached a breaking point. The normalization of suffering and violence is not acceptable; it is not the status quo we should tolerate.

The Bible speaks to our current plight and offers hope and guidance. In 2 Chronicles 7:14-16, it is written, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” God is calling us to unite and build a strong alliance. This unity is not just about marching in the streets; it’s about creating a robust network that can confront injustice, influence political decisions, and reform legal systems from within.

It is essential to build a Black alliance that prioritizes internal cohesion and external advocacy. We need to establish legal frameworks and a unified voting block that represents our collective interests fairly. The creation of a Black Party, inclusive of both women and men from our communities, can provide a platform for addressing our needs without succumbing to external pressures or financial incentives that do not serve our best interests.

The path to meaningful change requires us to come together with purpose and resolve. It is through unity and strategic action that we will achieve the justice and equality we deserve. Let us heed this call to action and work towards a future where our communities are safe, respected, and empowered.

In memory of Sonya Massey and all those who have suffered injustices, let us unite and build a better future for all.

It shows former Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Grayson worked for six different agencies in the state of Illinois in just four years. But the public website does not tell the whole story — revealing “hired” and “separation” dates without explanation.

State records show 30-year-old Grayson hopped around as a part-time officer at three small departments. He had a full-time job at a fourth department, and worked at two sheriff’s offices. All of his jobs were in central Illinois.
